The HIL is making a return after a seven-year hiatus, and this match between Soorma Hockey Club and Tamil Nadu Dragons will be the third fixture. The men's tournament will take place from December 28 to February 1, while the women's event is scheduled from January 12 to 26.

The teams are competing for over a month in Rourkela and Ranchi, battling it out in a double round-robin format followed by the knockouts.
