On Sundaycrazywin, the national capital woke up to another foggy morning as temperatures continued to fall after the record-breaking rainfall on Friday. The Safdarjung Observatory reported a minimum temperature of 13°C, which is more than 6°C above the normal temperature for this time of year.

With no more rainfall expected for the rest of the year, the IMD has predicted that the minimum temperature in Delhi to drop to 6°C on December 30 and 5°C on December 31.

Meanwhile, the cold wave conditions are expected to become more intense in Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Chandigarh. The IMD has issued an orange alert for several cities in Punjab due to dense fog. A dense fog alert has also been issued for Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh for both Sunday and Monday mornings and late nights.

Record Rainfall

Delhi experienced 41.2 mm of rainfall in a single day, setting a new record for the highest rainfall in December in the past 101 years. The heavy rain caused waterlogging and traffic jams in many parts of the city. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi's Central Control Room received 13 complaints, including 9 about waterlogging and 4 about fallen trees.
